Ciao a tutti miei cari!
Can you tell me the name and web address of your blog? Dragonfly Beauty, www.dragonflybeauty.com
Only two sentences to present yourself and your online activity… I’m a blogger who loves to help people transition their beauty routines to natural but effective and enjoyable products. My blog helps people navigate the world of natural and organic beauty with resources like recipes, greening your routine, product reviews, giveaways and advice.
Where do you write from and how long ago did you start your blog? I live in suburban Washington DC and I started the blog in March 2012.
Do you have other online communication channels like a facebook fan page, a twitter account etc… ? Yes, I have Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. I’m completely addicted to Pinterest.

How many followers do you have at the moment? Just about 2,000.
Which are the main issues you write about on your blog? All beauty topics, kids and baby products, cleaning products and the legislation currently being worked in the US to limit the presence of toxic chemicals in our beauty and personal care products. I also make some of my own products and provide recipes as well as reviews on local spas and salons that focus on more natural products.
Can you tell us the greater satisfaction you received since the beginning of your blogging activity? I really love the comments from people about how a product helped them or how they are making their own deodorant or lip balm. It’s so important to focus on these products because they are applied to our skin which absorbs a large percentage of what we put on it. Those chemicals then go into your bloodstream and travel your body. We know that many chemicals in common personal products contain cancer causing substances. It’s such a dangerous thing.
Have you ever had a “dark moment” when you thought about ending it all up with your blog? Sometimes writing a blog, you feel like you are just yelling into the wind and you wonder if anyone is listening. When my stats are down and no one is commenting, it’s hard and I wonder why bother. I really have a passion for this topic and I’ll keep writing even if only one person is reading because I am so afraid of what these chemicals are doing to our bodies and our planet.
An advice you would like to give to people entering the world of natural / organic cosmetics right now… DON’T FEEL OVERWHELMED! It feels like everything you touch is a problem once you know about it. Start small and replace things that go in your mouth or that cover a large part of your body–Toothpaste, lipstick, body lotion….and then go from there. There are lots of inexpensive options.
What do you think makes your blog stand apart from all the other ones dedicated to natural and organic cosmetics? I really focus on small lines. I adore Etsy — It’s a great place to find people making products. I really believe we need to be patrons to these small producers. They need our support to stay in business. My blog talks about more small company products that others and I present a really wide variety of brands and prices so there is something for everyone.
I tuoi commenti sono benvenuti!
